Fi Martynoga is a museum researcher and author on environmental subjects, and a long-standing volunteer and board member of the environmental charity Reforesting Scotland, for whom she has compiled the Handbook of Scotland's Trees. She was also a contributing editor for Woodlanders: New Life in Britain's Forests. She is involved with her local Transition group and is the author of the Tweed Green Cookbook She lives near Innerleithen, in the Borders.
