Book description
Years of experience working to help resolve the money difficulties of
many individuals and families has taught Alvin Hall one crucial insight:
our financial status has little to do with the amount of money we earn.
The real factor that determines our success or failure with money is how
we handle the various emotions and relationships that impact the
decisions we make about money. Our response to these complicated
emotional issues actually has the ability to make or break our economic
security, but now Alvin is on hand with his famous straight-from-the-hip
advice to ensure we control our finances - no matter what the underlying
issue. With practical and workable tools grounded in reality, Alvin
shows us how to make sure the money we work hard to earn works hard for
us, and sets us a clear pathway for long-term financial success. Alvin
Hall has his own rags-to-riches story. He grew up on in rural Florida
but did well at school and was the first person in his family to go to
university. After finishing his degree, he started working as a teacher.
Excited about earning a wage for the first time, Alvin quickly found it
hard to control his spending and he got into a lot of debt. But he
didn't bury his head in the sand. Instead, he developed a strategy to
get himself back on track, and once the debts were cleared, he never
looked back - he hasn't had a single money problem since!
Following a successful career on Wall Street, Alvin now heads a
financial services training company. He has presented many TV
programmes including the award-winning Your Money or Your Life
and Investing for All with Alvin Hall. Other TV and Radio
credits include Summer Exhibition, The Apprentice - You're Fired,
This Morning, JayZ: From Brooklyn to the Boardroom and Alvin
Hall's World of Money. His books include Your Money or Your
Life (winner of the 2003 WHSmith People's Choice Best Business
Book award) and What Not To Spend. He lives in New York.
