Poems for children, ballards for his friends in the South Seas, poetic tales of Scotland - a selection of the poetry Stevenson wrote all his life. Robert Louis Stevenson (1980-1894) is best know for his novels Treasure Island and The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. He best most of his life leading a bohemian life in Edinburgh and eventually received approval for a career in writing on condition that he studied for the Bar. He eventually moved to the USA for health reasons, before dying of a brain haemorrhage in 1894.
