Jane Fuller had not seen her husband since he was struck off the medical register, left her and went abroad. Now, on the very day she goes to her barrister to start proceedings on a divorce, she learns that he has returned. Dead. In her living room. Why did he return? How did he die? How did she not know he was in the house? The finger of suspicion from the police, barrister and the locals automatically falls upon Jane, but through her shock she denies everything. The evidence continues to mount up and then more people start to die in suspicious circumstances..... Josephine Bell’s imaginative characters and finely sustained tension will keep you hooked as the mysteries are gradually unpicked, and this village’s secrets finally begin to see the light of day.
