Book description
It's 1923 and the world is changing fast - London is a whirl of jazz,
dancing, parties and decadence. Violet, Daisy, Poppy and Rose Derrington
are desperate to be part of it, but, stuck in an enormous crumbling
house in the country with their reclusive father, London seems a
lifetime away. The Derrington sisters are convinced that if Violet can
only become a debutante, she will meet an eligible bachelor who will
give them all a way of escaping their humdrum life. But being a
debutante is an expensive business, and there simply isn't the money for
new dresses. The sisters come up with a plan to get to London for the
season, where Violet is sure to catch the eye of the most eligible
bachelor in the country - after all, who wouldn't want a princess for a
sister?
