Pieminister was founded in 2003 by brothers-in-law Jon Simon and
Tristan Hogg. After months of mixing, baking and tasting (they tried
over 200 recipes), the first range of pies was born. Jon and Tristan
had worked together in Jon's south London pub (bought from his
winnings from a TV game show), which became a destination for great
food and booze for those in the know. He sold the business and set up
Pieminister with Tristan, who had been surfing and sunbathing in
Australia for a while, and came up with the name Pieminister while
eating a pie on Bondi Beach.
Jon and Tristan both live in Bristol.
