Book description

Hamish is a mountain goat, and so are all his friends. But Hamish is frightened of climbing mountains, and makes excuses to stay behind every day, when his friends go into the hills. Until one day, he hears a cry for help, and only he can save the day. Born in Warwickshire, England, W. J. Corbett joined the Merchant Nav as a galley-boy when he was sixteen and saw the world. Later, during National Service, he became an Army Physical Training Instructor. Now living in Birmingham, the author has also worked as a a factory hand, furniture mover, building-site labourer and dishwasher. His first book, The Song of Pentecost, won the prestigious Whitbread Award.
