Linda and Opie O'Brien are full-time mixed media artists who enjoy
pushing the envelope through their imaginative use of metal, organic,
recycled, and found materials. Their work, which includes jewelry,
books, assemblage, collage, dolls, masks, and more, has been featured
in numerous books, magazines, galleries, group and solo shows, museum
gift shops and private collections.
Opie, an artist and musician, attended the School of Visual Arts and
also studied at Pratt Institute in New York City. On the musical side
of the coin, he played Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden with
the Raspberries and Tommy James. His approach to art is disciplined,
structured, and meticulous.
Linda, on the other hand, is self-taught. Her philosophy is "no
rules, no restrictions." Her raw, free-spirited style and
nontraditional techniques define her as a true "outsider"
artist. She has written feature articles for several publications,
including Belle Armoire and Art Doll Quarterly magazines.
