Book description
In a world where autobiographies are written by 21 year olds and Paris
Hilton is considered a bestselling author, how difficult can it be to
write a book? These days it seems that the world and his wife are
churning out books in order to cynically cash in on the lucrative
Christmas market, so Radio One's Comedy Dave has decided to do just
that. His first attempt at being a proper writer is a collection of
questions, theories, short stories, poems, pictures, and anecdotes all
tediously linked together in his own charming style. It's unlikely to
win the Pulitzer Prize for literature, but it will give you a bit of a
giggle while you're sat on the toilet. 'If you don't buy this book
you're just stupid' Chris Moyles, Radio 1 DJ Dave Vitty has one of the
most recognisable voices on British radio and can be heard every weekday
morning as the self-appointed Director of Comedy on The Chris Moyles
Show on BBC Radio 1. Dave started working with Chris in 1998 doing The
Early Breakfast Show between 4 and 7 am. Five years on The Afternoon
Show then followed, before they landed the coveted breakfast slot in
2004. Almost eight years on, the show continues to go from strength to
strength with Dave being an integral part of its success, both on air
and behind the scenes in his role as head writer. In March 2011, Dave
and Chris broke the Guinness World Record for the 'Longest Continuous
Radio Show by a Team', after broadcasting their BBC Radio 1 show for 52
hours. The show included dozens of guests (most of whom Dave can't
remember) and raised an incredible 2. 8 million for Comic Relief. 2011
was also the year that Dave competed in Dancing on Ice on ITV1, and even
though he finished ninth, he was brilliant and didn't look silly at all.
Dave is also the narrator of Coach Trip on Channel 4 and can regularly
be heard on BBC 5 Live with Richard Bacon on The Moan In and with Mark
'Chappers' Chapman on Football Express.
