Book description

No debutante was ever more desperate to escape the clutches of a detestable suitor than Fanny Brightwell but will she find the burning kisses of her secret lover worth the price? With just weeks before the end of the Season, London's most daring debutante Miss Fanny Brightwell must contract a brilliant match or face the consequences-marriage to the pestilential Lord Slyther. When Fanny unexpectedly participates in a night of stupendous passion with the delectable but notorious rake, Viscount Fenton, his offer of a carte blanche instead of holy matrimony ignites more than just a polite refusal. The time has come for Fanny to take the reins. _x000D_ Beverley Oakley's life is a romantic story as well as a professional one. She is a passionate romance novelist-the author of three books-a reviewer, and she has worked as a journalist, editor and proofreader on newspapers and magazines throughout Australia. After leaving her job as a features writer on a major metropolitan newspaper, she became a safari lodge manager in the Okavango Delta, Botswana, where she met her handsome Norwegian husband, a pilot. She joined him in the skies for the next few years, operating the computer equipment in the back of low-flying aircraft during contracts as an airborne geophysical survey operator in Namibia, Greenland and French Guyana. In 2000 she returned to Australia and a job as editor of Australia's top-selling craft magazine Australian Country Craft & Decorating. Later, she worked as a journalist for WA's Homes & Living magazine and as a proofreader for the international dining guide, The Entertainment Book. Beverley's third Regency Historical Romance, A Little Deception has just been published, in hardcover, under the name Beverly Eikli, by Robert Hale. Her second novel, Lady Farquhar's Butterfly, was republished in large print by FA Thorpe earlier this year.
