Book description
October, 2001. As Chief Superintendant Michele Ferrara is driving to
work through the busy streets of Florence, a bomb explodes, hitting his
car and putting him in hospital. The investigation focuses immediately
on terrorism - but it's not long before someone suggests Ferrara himself
could have been the target. He did, after all, just imprison notorious
mafia boss Salvatore Laprua. A week later another bomb explodes,
bringing tragedy for Ferrara and a determination to find those
responsible. But that same morning, Salvatore Laprua is found dead in
his prison cell. Who, then, is behind the bombings? Michele Giuttari
was born in 1950 in the province of Messina. He was head of the Florence
Police Force from 1995 to 2003, where he was responsible for re-opening
the Monster of Florence case and jailing several key Mafia figures. He
is now a special adviser to the interior minister in Rome, with a
special remit to monitor Mafia activity.
