Book description
Inglourious Basterds is set during World War II and stars Brad
Pitt, Mike Myers and Diane Kruger. A band of Jewish-American soldiers
known as 'The Basterds' spread fear throughout the Third Reich by
scalping and brutally killing Nazis, while in Paris a young Jewish
French woman who runs a movie theatre is involved in a plot to kill
Hitler during the premiere of a movie. Inglourious Basterds has the
violence, humour, cracking dialogue, and band-of-brothers camaraderie
of Reservoir Dogs, as well as the profound courage and sense of honour
of the greatest World War II movies. Once again, Quentin Tarantino has
created an unforgettable movie experience.
Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1963, Quentin Tarantino was an
ex-video store clerk whose debut feature Reservoir Dogs (1991) became
a huge cult hit. Two earlier scripts - True Romance and Natural Born
Killers - were then filmed, while his own Pulp Fiction (1994) won the
Palme d'Or at Cannes and an Oscar for Best Screenplay. Subsequently he
has contributed to Four Rooms (1995) and From Dusk Till Dawn (1996),
and made Jackie Brown (1998), Kill Bill (2003), and Death Proof (2008).
