Book description

Aspiring writer, Mags Clarke has just moved with her mother to a new area after the death of her father. One day she stumbles across a girl who appears to be floating above the trees while playing her violin in the woods. Mags, clever, funny and opinionated, usually has her feet firmly on the ground so she's not sure that she and this girl are going to get on, but an unlikely friendship develops.

Siobh n Parkinson is one of Ireland's leading authors for children and teenagers, and she has won numerous awards for her writing. Her books have been translated into many languages, from Danish to Thai - even ones where they translate your name as well as your book, so somewhere in Central Europe are books by someone called ivena Parkinsona.

She is joint editor of Bookbird, an international journal on children's literature, and when she is not writing stories or pretending to be ivena Parkinsona, she visits schools and works with children on their writing projects. Siobh n lives in Dublin with her husband and grown-up son.
